Zeki Konukoğlu elected President of the Energy Council

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Energy Council convened under the chairmanship of TOBB Board Member Zeki Kıvanç to elect the Presidential Council.​

In his opening speech, TOBB Board Member Zeki Kıvanç reminded that Turkey's Sector Councils have been operating since 2006 and stressed that Councils are the platform which brings together public, private and sectoral NGOs on a legal basis. Kıvanç stated that every problem submitted to TOBB from chamber-exchanges and sector councils during the pandemic was relayed to the relevant Ministries and emphasized that the process is dynamic and that these difficult days will be overcome in unity.

In the election of the Presidential Council, Sanko Holding Energy Group Chairman Zeki Konukoğlu was elected as the Council President while the current Vice President Gökmen Topuz, COO of the Polat Energy Industry And Trade Inc., was reelected as Vice President unanimously. He thanked the members, noting that all players of the electricity market are involved in the Council, and stressed that the Structure of the Council is a great power to take the sector forward if it acts together. Zeki Konukoğlu stated that he believed that they would do good work with the effective use of the Council and thanked the sector, which continued its service uninterruptedly during the pandemic process.
