Turkish Software Council Elected Presidential Council via videoconference

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkish Software Council met via video conference method to elect the Presidential Council and make an overall assessment of the sector under the chairmanship of TOBB Board Member in charge of the Council Mehmet Büyüksimitci.​

In his opening speech, TOBB Board Member Mehmet Büyüksimitci reminded that the Turkish Sector Councils have been operating since 2006 and emphasized that the councils are the platform that brings public, private and sectoral non-governmental organizations together on a legal platform. Büyüksimitci stated that every problem transmitted to TOBB from Chamber-Exchanges and Sector Councils in the pandemic process was followed up before the relevant Ministries and emphasized that the process is dynamic and that these difficult days will be overcome in unity.

Melek Bar Elmas made a presentation of the works carried out as the Council during their time as Council President and detailed information about the projects in operation was given. After council members attending the meeting introduced themselves, the election of the presidential council was initiated.

Globalnet Internet Technologies and Software Co.Ltd. General Manager Ertan Barut was elected Council President by majority vote and Murat Hüseyin Candan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Barikat Internet Security Co.Inc., was elected unanimously as Council Vice President.

At the end of the meeting, Council Members made sector assessments during the pandemic process. It was decided to do the necessary work on vital issues concerning the sector, such as difficulties in accessing international data by the Council members, increasing R&D center support, increasing public initiatives to support software exports.
