Waste and Recycling Industry Council established within TOBB

The Waste and Recycling Industry Council was established as the 62nd Sector Council under the umbrella of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Sector Councils.​

Thus, the recycling sector, which contains close to 10 sub-sectors and is cited as one of the most important sectors of the future, is united under the umbrella of TOBB.

The meeting of the newly established Council was held under the chairmanship of TOBB Board Members S. Selim Kandemir and Zeki Kıvanç.

In his opening speech, TOBB Board Member S. Selim Kandemir emphasized that councils are the platform that brings public, private and sectoral non-governmental organizations together on a legal footing. Kandemir also thanked TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu for his vision during the creation phase of the Council.

TOBB Board Member Zeki Kıvanç stated that the waste and recycling sector has reached an important point in the world with the strategies developed and put forward globally and said that he is confident that very useful works will be signed on behalf of the sector and the country as council.

At the meeting, TOBB Sectors and Entrepreneurship Department Head A. Saygın Baban made a comprehensive presentation on the structure of the Sector Councils, the roadmap followed during the creation phase of the Council and the expectations of the members.

The meeting ended after councilor firms and associations introduced themselves. The electoral council meeting is scheduled to take place in February.
