Paper and Paper Products Industry Council evaluated the year

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Paper and Paper Products Industry Council, chaired by Council President Erdal Sukan, met via video conference to evaluate the sector for 2020 with the participation of industry representatives and to address current issues.​

In his speech, Council President Erdal Sukan said that at the meeting was held on November 28th with the participation of TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Treasury and Finance Minister Lütfi Elvan, Justice Minister Abdülhamit Gül, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Agriculture and Forestry Minister Bekir Pakdemirli, Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk and Naci Ağbal, President of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.

 

At the meeting, Tuba Seyyah from the Department of Climate Change and Adaptation of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization presented information about the latest status of studies and developments on climate law and ETS issues within the scope of PMR project.

 

In the second agenda article, the issue of quotas for scrap paper imports was consulted with the participation of Tuğçe Terzi from the General Directorate of Product Safety and Inspection of the Ministry of Commerce.

 

At the meeting, which also discussed the effects of the Law Proposal on the Establishment of the Turkish Environment Agency and Amendments to Some Laws on the sector, Council Members consulted on the issue.

 

In the last part of the meeting, the general evaluation of the sector was made and the expectations for 2021 were discussed.
