The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Chemical Industry Council convened via video conference under Ayhan Zeytinoğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of TOBB, and Timur Erk, President of the Turkey Chemical Industry Council.​

The meeting stated that it would be beneficial to have a technical study done in the name of improving the investment environment. Additional Customs Duty (IGV) applied to intermediate input products was also discussed at the meeting; the IGV was said to adversely affect competitiveness. As the Chemical Industry Council, it was conveyed that it would be beneficial to do GTÄ°P work to identify intermediate input products.

ÖTV problems in the integration of refineries and petrochemicals are continuing and the price of the product has reportedly doubled. Noting that producers should not be the interlocutor of the ÖTV, that the investment was announced as an obstacle. This problem should be resolved as the state considers the chemical sector a priority sector.

In the lists published by the public administration, a scientific study on identifying products of strategic importance by the Chemical Industry Council on definitions such as High Technology - Medium Technology was evaluated as beneficial.

In order to avoid land allocations received in OIZs by Industrialists, within the scope of investment plans, being faced with the cancellation of the allocation for the specified period of time as per OIZ legislation, it was proposed that the pandemic should be counted as compelling reason and that construction license and period of operation be extended.
