The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Turkey Retail Council Meeting was held under the chairmanship of Council President Alp Önder Özpamukçu with the participation of TOBB Board Member in Charge of Council Cengiz Günay, with the contributions of Adem Başar, General Manager of Internal Trade of the Ministry of Commerce, with great interest and participation of senior representatives of private sector, non-governmental organizations.​

At the meeting, Council Members, stating that the 2-year period given by the Communiqué for the return to TL on the foreign exchange ban, due to it ending of October 2020, emphasized that the regulation should be reviewed, pointing out the importance of eliminating the application gap at the end of the period.

 

During the pandemic, the continued Short Work Allowance, flexibility in the repayment of upcoming loan installments, requests for April-June SSI payment which will be paid between October and December to be deferred, and draft legislative work on MYK-documented personnel incentives were discussed.

 

Members drew attention to the transfer of personal data abroad within the scope of the KVKK and the risks in cloud computing applications, noting solution alternatives for fixing the problem. In addition, 5 priority problems and solution proposals of the sector were evaluated and decided to be finalized.
