TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, along with representatives of the business world and syndicates, paid a congratulatory visit to the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We are sure that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will continue to serve Turkey admirably as he did during his time as Prime Minister.”​

Congratulatory visit to EU Minister Bozkır

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, along with the Turkey-EU Arbitration Committee (KİK) visited EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Volkan Bozkır. European Union (EU) Minister and Chief Negotiator Volkan Bozkır said in regards to the EU process, “Opening new chapters isn’t all that important; we don’t have to open new chapters. It would be nice to do so but if we truly feel progress then we will be happy.” Bozkır stated during the reception that keeping EU relevant would be strengthening for Turkey and that every facet of Turkish life would benefit from the EU process.​

Ambassador to Romania Koray Ertaş visited Hisarcıklıoğlu

Turkey’s Ambassador to Romania, Koray Ertaş, visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. During the meeting wherein cooperation opportunities involving Romania were discussed, Hisarcıklıoğlu asked for the Ambassador’s support especially in regards to the Turkish-Romanian Business Council’s activities in Romania.​

Turkish diaspora establishing “Global City Network”

Turkish businessmen are expanding their abroad organization model from country level to the city level in order to increase influence. World Turkish Business Council, working under DEİK, is organized in over 200 cities worldwide. Meeting with over 600 Turkish businessmen in Köln, DEİK and DTİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Our goal is to match the effectiveness of Chinese and Jewish diaspora by the centennial anniversary of the Republic, becoming one of the top 3 diaspora in the world. We won’t be the most numerous but we target being one of the most effective. With our institutional structure, we will contribute to turning Turkey dreams into goals and its goals into reality.”​

Cities, not countries, will come to the fore

Speaking at the 6th Developing Cities Summit held in Kayseri, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that, in the ever-changing world, cities, not countries, will come to the fore. Hisarcıklıoğlu said that this was the time to be exporting entrepreneurs, not goods.​
