TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and 78 members of the Call to Unity Platform have traveled to Van in order to help heal the wounds from the earthquake. Hisarcıklıoğlu, giving a message of unity and solidarity, said, “We will always stand by our brothers and sisters. People should see how they embrace each other in difficult times.”​

 

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, visiting the Van Crisis Center stated his condolences to the people of Van. “We stand here as representatives of every part of Turkey’s society,” Hisarcıklıoğlu said. Stating that everyone wants to help those affected in the earthquake zone, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We must bind the wounds as soon as possible. We stand with our brothers and sisters. We always will. May Allah grant us aid.”

Van Mayor Münir Karaloğlu gave information regarding the situation. 6 buildings in Van province center, 85 in Erciş, 2250 housing units in townships have collapsed. 461 citizens have lost their live, stated Mayor Karaloğlu, with 1300 wounded.
