Stating that after the attacks of the terrorist organization in Bitlis, then Çukurca, the pain of the martyred policemen and soldiers as well as the citizens who have lost their lives is deeply felt, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the people who thought they could achieve their goals by shedding blood would pay for this.

Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Those who hope to gain by terrorism are the enemies of innocents’ futures. The 74 million have this to say to those who indiscriminately kill without regards to children and women: It does not matter with what goal in mind you dare try to disturb our unity and solidarity, our brotherhood which has lasted centuries, you will pay for this heavily and history will bear witness to it.”

In his message, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated;

“We first received the news of the attack in Güroynak, Bitlis where 5 policemen were martyred and 3 citizens, 1 of them a baby, were killed and afterwards the news from the Çukurca county of Hakkari reached us and we learned, with heavy hearts, that 26 of our soldiers have been martyred and 22 have been wounded. Our sorrow is great. Our anger towards these enemies of humanity, they who hope to benefit from terror, is great. Let none be so deluded as to believe that those cause this country pain will go unanswered and that those who cause hurt to this nation will reach their goals. History has not seen its like, and we promise that it won’t.

The 74 million who are tied to each other by blood and life, by culture and by core and by word condemn this drama of humanity. The end of terror will come. The roots of this enmity will be eradicated. Let it be known that every single citizen is at least as brave and determined as those who hope to gain by terrorism. None can benefit from this. We cannot leave terror as an inheritance to future generations. To leave them more livable, more democratic, more beautiful tomorrows would become us.

As I state once more, on behalf of the Turkish business world, that we share our nation’s pain, I pray for the grace of Allah upon our martyrs. I present our condolences to their families and our nation and wish speedy recoveries to the wounded.”
