TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, TOBB Board Vice-President Faik Yavuz, TOBB Board Members Mustafa Yardımcı and Mustafa Boydak, Çorum Representatives to the Grand National Assembly, Çorum Mayor Nurullah Çakır, Çorum Women Entrepreneurs Council President Sermin Kaleli, Çorum Young Entrepreneurs Council President Mustafa Bektaş and many businessmen and guests attended the tax record holders award ceremony held in Çorum Anitta Hotel.

Before TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu’s speech a surprise celebration for his 10th year in office was held.

Starting his speech by giving thanks for the gesture, Hisarcıklıoğlu assessed the situation after the election wherein the focus is now on the implementation of a new constitution. Drawing attention to the Political Parties and Elections Laws in addition to the new Constitution, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “If the bond between the nation and its members of the Grand National Assembly is not strengthened, we’ll only work as a mechanism to wear out new Assembly members each year. As a citizen, I want to have a say in Assembly Member elections. You either have a choice or you a set meal and you vote on that. We are all voting for leaders. Your Assembly Member is the person who will hear your problems. The system needs to strengthen the bond between you and Assembly Members.

- “We are not thieves”

Requesting that businessmen be liberated, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We are not thieves. What we earn, we invest in this country’s future. Stop staring at us. We invest in this country if we get a single lira’s worth of profit. In 30 years, we made this country the 6th largest economy in Europe and the 16th in the world.”

Stating that they place great importance on women and young entrepreneurs, Hisarcıklıoğlu, “If we wish to become rich we must increase the number of our entrepreneurs.” Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that in order to reach the 2023 goals and abolish unemployment in time; the number of entrepreneurs must increase.

Stating the importance of acting in unison, Hisarcıklıoğlu explained the magic formula as ‘unity and solidarity’.  If the mayor, municipality president, chamber and exchange presidents of a province move in concert, that province will prosper.
Çorum Commerce and Industry Chamber President Çetin Başaranhıncal and National Assembly members also gave speeches. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu along with his entourage visited the Çorum Commerce and Industry Chamber and the Çorum Municipality.
