In his assessment of the meeting, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated, “We concluded the Türkiye-EU Joint Consultative Committee meeting today following two days of sessions. At the meeting, hosted by TOBB, a shared commitment was expressed regarding the strengthening of Türkiye-EU relations, the development of the customs union, support for the ‘Made in Europe and Türkiye’ approach, the competitiveness of SMEs, digital and green transformation, climate policies, and the enhancement of civil society dialogue. The joint statement welcomed the importance of Türkiye’s EU candidacy process, Türkiye’s preparations to host COP31, and the role TOBB has assumed as the COP31 Business Ambassador. The importance of streamlining visa processes for the business community, academia, youth, and civil society was also emphasized. The determination to strengthen Türkiye-EU civil society dialogue and cooperation was reaffirmed once again.”
