During the opening segment of the meeting, Fatih Yücelik, the late Chairman of the TOBB Turkey Cement and Cement Products Council, who lost his life in a tragic traffic accident, was remembered with respect and gratitude. Participants highlighted the valuable contributions the late Yücelik made to the Turkish cement sector and the council’s work, and extended their condolences to his family, loved ones, and the broader industry community.

In the elections for the Presiding Board held following the opening remarks, Adil Sani Konukoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Çimko Cement and Concrete Industry and Trade Inc., was elected Chairman of the TOBB Türkiye Cement and Cement Products Council, while Volkan Bozay, General Manager of the Turkish Cement Manufacturers’ Association (TÜRKÇİMENTO), was elected Vice Chairman of the Council.

In the sectoral assessments conducted after the elections, the current state of the cement sector and expectations for its future were discussed. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors to ensure the sector’s sustainable growth.

It was noted that the Executive Board, which will serve in the new term, will continue its work in line with the sector’s common goals, and the meeting concluded after all agenda items were addressed.
