TOBB Board of Directors Member Mehmet Büyüksimitci started his speech by praying for the grace of Allah upon our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake that affected 11 provinces, including Kahramanmaraş, which took place on February 6, 2023, and deeply shook our country, and extended his condolences to the survivors.

Büyüksimitci touched on the importance of solving the permanent housing problem as soon as possible. Board Member Büyüksimitci, who gave information about the “TOBB Business World Housing Mobilization,” called for help for the housing to be built for our citizens who were affected by the earthquake.

In the first agenda item of the meeting, Hürol Karlı, Head of the Department of Information, Software and Communication Services Export of the General Directorate of International Trade in Services of the Ministry of Trade, provided information about the supports provided by the Ministry of Trade in terms of service sectors.

In the second agenda item of the meeting, the effects of the earthquake on the entrepreneurship ecosystem and what can be done after the earthquake were discussed comprehensively by the Council Members.

The meeting also provided information about the meetings held by the “Techno-Enterprise Council” established under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, General Directorate of National Technology, in line with the vision and objectives set forth by the Techno-Enterprise Strategy. Council President Altan Küçükçınar and Vice President Murat Onuk emphasized that the structure is a good platform for solving the problems of the sector.

The meeting, where the opinions of the Council Members on the bankruptcy process of the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) were also discussed, ended with the evaluation of the latest developments in the country and the world agenda.
