Hisarcıklıoğlu on Working Journalists’ Day: “Journalists are the light of society”

In his message celebrating the January 10th Working Journalists’ Day, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that journalists work hard with devotion to rapidly provide accurate information to society, said, “The press is an indispensable part of democracy and modern order, it is the mirror that reflects the events of the world. Journalists are the light of society. We will see further and more clearly the stronger that light is.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:
“I celebrate the Working Journalists’ Day of those who labor in the press sector, our friends. Journalism plays an very big and important role in the development of society. The truth is that where information is weak, when society is not informed rapidly and accurately regarding events in the world, development of societies are hampered and have problems. Therefore I would like to thank those who use the latest technology, expend extraordinary amounts of effort to keep us informed and take part in this honorable profession.
We are well aware that a strong, healthy and free press will have important contributions to Turkey in reaching its centennial development goals.
It is with this thoughts and feelings that I congratulate you on this day on behalf of the Turkish business world and wish for your continued success.”
