Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

 

Under the presidency of TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlui, DEİK Executive Council President Rona Yırcalı, Coca Cola Board President Muhtar Kent, Koç Holding Honorary President Rahmi Koç, Sabancı Holding Board President Güler Sabancı, DEİK Board Member Zeynel Abidin Erdem and Çalık Holding Board President Ahmet Çalık have been elected to continue their roles in the DTİK Board of Directors while Ziraat Bank former President Can Akın Çağlar has been replaced by Hüseyin Aydın who had been acting in his stead.

The number of DTİK Board Members has been increased from 7 to 14 with the additions from the Region Committees. Joining the Board are the Europe Committee President Turgut Torunoğulları, Europe Committee Vice-President Remzi Kaplan, America Committee President Celal Seçilmiş, Eurasia Committee President Ali Galip Savaşır, Balkans Committee President Ömer Süsli, Asia Pacific Committee President Nejdet Demiryürek and the Africa Committee President Mehmet Öztürk.

Many new names have joined the DTİK High Advisory Council (YİK) under Muhtar Kent's presidency. Among them is the world renowned doctor, Mehmet Öz.

Western Union CEO Hikmet Ersek, Turkcell Director General Süreyya Ciliv, Borajet Board President Yalçın Ayaslı and Çağlayan Arkan from Microsoft are also among those who will serve in YİK during the term.

Do & Co Board President Atilla Doğudan, Palmalı Holding Board President Mübariz Mansimov, fashion designer Atıl Kutoğlu and White & Case LLP partner Aslı Başgöz will continue their duties in the YİK.

- DTÄ°K's purpose

DTÄ°K, established under DEÄ°K according to the rulings on December 26, 2007 by DEÄ°K and January 28, 2008 by TOBB, aims to bring together the loosely organized, successful Turkish entrepreneurs abroad with enterprising spirits who support Turkish lobbies along with those Turkish entrepreneurs at the heads of powerful international companies.

The World Turkish Business Council (DTİK) is the first council specially established, putting aside political views,  to bring together Turkish businessmen, associations, institutions and similar world business organizations under DEİK's roof.

DEÄ°K's main axis consists of facilitating economic and financial activities of Turks living abroad, spreading the Turkish lobby, bring solutions to the problems Turkish entrepreneurs abroad and propagating Turkey's image to greater heights in the international arena.

DTÄ°K's members are made up of regional representative persons from outside of Turkey (members, entrepreneurs and professionals of institutions, associations, federations and similar organizations established in foreign countries by Turkish entrepreneurs and professionals), TOBB Board President and members, TOBB Council Presidents, DEÄ°K Board of Directors and DEÄ°K Supervisory Board members, DEÄ°K Founding Council Presidents and DEÄ°K Business Council Presidents.
