TOBB’s commissions and committees convened

Prior to the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) 75th General Assembly, commissions and committees of TOBB convened individually with the participation of TOBB Board Members.​

TuR&Bo General Assembly

Turkish Research and Business Establishments Office (TuR&Bo) General Assembly and Coordination Board meetings were with the participation of TOBB Board Member M. Cihat Lokmanoğlu, KOSGEB Vice President Salih Tuna Şahin, TÜBİTAK President Advisor. Orkun Hasekioglu, TESK Secretary General Naci Sulkalar and representatives of stakeholder institutions. ​

Export Support Offices Bilateral Meeting Program at TOBB

The Export Support Offices Bilateral Meeting Program was held at the TOBB Twin Towers.on April 26th, 2019, by TOBB and the Ministry of Trade, in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade experts in order to strengthen the communication between the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Support Office and to contribute to the information processes of the Export Support Offices. ​

Yavuz: “It is necessary to develop new agriculture policies”

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Board Treasurer Faik Yavuz participated in the Turkey Flour Industrialists Federation (TUSAF) International Congress and Exhibition. In his speech, Yavuz pointed out the need for the development of new policies in agriculture, “Discussing support for agriculture solely around the share of budget to be allocated is preventing the main issues from being discussed. The added value of workers in the agricultural sector remains at 1,800 USD in Turkey; this figure is 52,800 USD in Denmark, 30,620 USD in Japan and 4,860 USD in Hungary.”​

Under the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, TOBB MEYBEM Vocational Qualification and Certification Centers Inc., held “Vocational Qualifications System Information Third Group Training” for chambers and exchanges at the TOBB Social Facilities meeting hall. ​

TOBB Board Vice President Tamer Kıran, representing the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), attended the Coordination Council for the Improvement of Investment Environment (YOIKK) Meeting chaired by Vice President Fuat Oktay held at the Presidential Complex. ​

Current issues in the durable consumer goods sector discussed

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Turkey Durable Consumer Goods Council April 2019 meeting was held at the TOBB Twin Towers under the chairmanship of Council President Fatih Kemal Ebiçlioğlu with the participation of councilor members. At the meeting, the production, domestic sales and export figures of the TURKBESD sector data as well as the updated IMMIB sectoral export data of were shared. According to TURKBESD data, a 6% decrease was observed in 6 large goods domestic sales and exports while a 1% increase was observed in production compared to March 2018.​
