Ambassador Gürcan Balık, appointed the UNESCO Permanent Representative, visited TOBB

UNESCO Permanent Representative Ambassador Gürcan Balık visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. Leaving Ankara for Paris on Tuesday to begin his new appointment, Balık said, “It gives us great pleasure to see TOBB is an international actor active in all fields.”​ ​

TOBB will construct the Çankırı Science High School

TOBB will construct a 24 classroom Science High School Building and a Student Dormitory with a capacity of 300 in Çankırı. During the signing of the agreement, Çankırı Municipality Director İrfan Dinç, in accordance with the decision of the Municipality Council, presented TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu with a honorary resident certificate. Expressing that the certificate has come as a surprise, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “This is a great honor for me.”​ ​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, speaking at the Contributors to Akhisar Award Ceremony held by the Akhisar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO), reminded that there are those who question the work done by chambers and exchanges and said, “Our chambers have, in just the last term, lifted a burden of 6 billion TL off of the private sector with their work.”​ ​

Growth in 2012 may be below expectation but 2013 will be better

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating in his 2012 review, “Growth in 2012 may be below expectations (OVP),” while saying that they expect 2013 to be a better year than 2012 in regards to growth, exports and inflation.​ ​

Tunisia Prime Minister Jebali attended the 4th Sectoral Economy Summit

The 4th Sectoral Economy Summit was hosted at the TOBB Twin Towers by the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, presided by the Deputy Prime Minister Babacan and attended by the Customs and Commerce Minister Hayati Yazıcı, TOBB Board Members, TOBB Turkey Sector Council presidents and vice presidents as well as the high level representatives of public administration institutions.​ ​
