Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

Speaking at the 51st General Assembly of the Financial Development Foundation (İKV), TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu defined the significance of EU membership as ‘becoming a country of rules and institutions’ and said, “The EU compliance process provides us with a tested prescription for success. We must enact this prescription appropriately. In this regard, we must continue with the reforms we began back in 2001. It’s obvious to us all what happens when you stop turning the pedals on a bike.”​

An additional 21 chambers and commodity exchanges have attained their accreditation certificates. With the completion of 69 chambers and commodity exchanges’ work towards accreditation certification, the number of 5-star chambers will reach 221. The goal is to certify all 365 chambers and commodity exchanges.​

Belgium’s Ambassador to Ankara, Marc Trenteseau visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at his office.​

At the TOBB Union Center for the 9th Term Chamber/Commodity Exchange Accreditation Certification Ceremony, chamber and commodity exchange presidents visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu on the 13th and 14th of January, 2014.​

The Turkish – Malaysian Business Forum was held in Kuala Lumpur with the attendances of TOBB/DEİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi, Malaysia Economy and Industry Minister Mustafa Muhammet and approximately 450 Turkish and Malaysian investors.​

As the last order of business, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the “Asia Pacific and Turkey’s Transformation” Meeting in which Prime Minister Erdoğan took part as the primary speaker. ​

World Turkish Business Council (DTİK) Asia Pacific Regional Committee Meeting was held in Malaysia with the attendances of TOBB/DEİK/DTİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, TOBB Board Vice President and DEİK Board Member Halim Mete, TOBB Vice President İbrahim Çağlar, Turkish – Malaysian Business Council President Nail Kurt. ​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the Malaysian – Turkish Business Council President Mirzan Mahatir. ​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, along with Economy Minister Nihat Zeybekçi, met with the CEOs of Malaysia’s Petronas and Khazanah Nasional Berhad companies. ​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the Turkey-Singapore Business Forum in Singapore during PM Erdoğan’s Far East visits and stated that the Singapore model could be adopted in regards to healthcare.​
