Important developments for the sector were evaluated at the council meeting, which was held with the participation of senior representatives of the private sector.

TOBB Vice Chairman S. Zeki MurzioÄŸlu informed that in the Covid-19 process, TOBB has mobilized all its opportunities for solving sectoral problems and that the monitoring and relaying of the problems to public institutions/organizations is meticulously carried out. MurzioÄŸlu also emphasized the importance of the Council by stating that the iron and steel sector is one of the most important sectors in Turkey.

TOBB Turkey Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Council President Veysel Yayan said that he shares the problems experienced by the sector and the council in regards to the effects of Covid-19 on the business life during video conferences organized by TOBB attended by Turkish Treasury and Finance Minister Dr. Berat Albayrak, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank and Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan.

The meeting also discussed the measures regarding Covid-19 and the impact of the outbreak on the sector.
