Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

The General Assembly Meeting of the International Federation of Automobile Experts (FIEA, Fédération Internationale des Experts en Automobiles), of which the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) is a member representing the insurance surveyors operating in Turkey, will be held in Istanbul on 14-15 June 2019.

The opening session of the FIEA General Assembly began with speeches by TOBB Board Member Hakan Ülken, TOBB SEIK President Ahmet Nedim Erdem, FIEA President Xavier Romero and Deputy Undersecretary of the Treasury and Finance Ahmet Genç.

- “Reports should be written from a single center”

In his speech at the opening session, TOBB Board Member Hakan Ülken stated that insurance adjuster is one of the most important elements of the insurance sector and said, “You are the main elements that ensure the balance between the insurance companies and the insured. The most important responsibility of the insurance adjuster is to calculate the compensation quickly and accurately. In order to do this in a healthy way, the reports should be written from a single independent center.”

Underlining that TOBB will give all necessary support to efforts to address this issue, Ülken said, “We need to re-evaluate the legislation and make the necessary arrangements. Expert report software system for all branches should be created and managed from a single center. As TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu says, ‘A strong insurance sector is the key to a stable development process.’”
