Karamehmetoğlu, began his speech by congratulating TOBB Turkey Soil Products Industry Council President Kadir Başoğlu for his great efforts in making the summit a reality.

Şaban A. Karamehmetoğlu stated that his family has been in the sector since 1942 and he “Our sector has a very important place in our economy as it constitutes the infrastructure of the construction sector. As you all know, we are going through a rebalancing process in the economy. Throughout this process, our brick and tile industry is affected by the construction sector. In our country where approximately 800,000 people join the labor force every year, the healthy development of the construction and construction-related sectors is very important.”

Şaban A. Karamehmetoğlu, reiterating that the state banks began issuing low-interest housing loans on the instruction of the government, and that the Treasury and the Ministry of Finance made reductions in the title deed fees, said “We would like to thank our government for all these arrangements. We believe that we will leave behind this difficult period. We never lost hope. Already business people should be full of hope. Without hope, we cannot start the new day, we will not succeed in our business. Why should we be hopeful? Because there’s no end to opportunity in Turkey. We have an average population age of 30 years.”
