Yavuz pointed out that there is a digital revolution. “In the past, there was the Silk Road and the Spice Road. Countries and people on this trade route would prosper. Now there is the internet cyber highway. So the way to trade now goes through every house and workplace. You can sell goods to the most remote corner of Australia with just one click. A market volume of 20 trillion USD, 7 billion people at the other end of the screen. The share of e-commerce in the world in total retail is 8.5%. We are currently at the beginning of the road in e-commerce. Only 4% of the total retail trade in Turkey is conducted through the electronic medium.”
