During the meeting with the participation of high-level representatives of public institutions, private sector and non-governmental organizations at the TOBB Istanbul Service Building, Limak Cement Board Chairman Nihat Özdemir was elected Chairman of the Council.

TOBB Board Member Hakan Ãœlken informed the Members of the Council about the workings of the Sector Councils. Hakan Ãœlken emphasized that the sector councils are a structure covering all sides of the sector bridging the public and the private sectors.

Council Chair Nihat Özdemir expressed his appreciation to the members of the council and stated that Limak is active in many sectors but they attach great importance to the cement sector. He reported that they are fourth in the world cement sector and the first in Europe and will work to further strengthen the industry structure. Özdemir stated that they will continue to work as a sector to reduce energy costs by using waste heat recovery and solid wastes as fuel and added that they are sensitive to the issues related to climate change and environment.
