e-Commerce developments discussed at sector council meeting

TOBB Turkey e-Commerce Council meeting, chaired by Council Speaker Öget Kantarcı, was held with the participation of senior representatives of the public sector, private sector and civil society organizations at the TOBB Istanbul Service Building.​

As a part of the first agenda item in the meeting, Yankı Yalçın from Nielsen gave a presentation. Yalçın said that they are working on media metrics, private research, optimization and variety studies for variety and field management, are monitoring a retail index and that they can work on the electronic commerce side as well.

Department Chief Dr. Mehmet Baş, participating on behalf of the Medical Device Agency, provided information about the legislation regarding the sale of medical devices in an electronic environment. Abdullah Altınörs, Group Chairman of the Revenue Administration, also gave information about tax regulations in electronic commerce.
