The Packaging Council assess problems facing the sector

The Turkish Packaging Council was held under the Council Chair Mustafa Tacir at the TOBB Twin Towers with the participation of high level representatives of the private sector and non-governmental organizations.​

Council Chair Mustafa Tacir expressed his wishes that work is conducted efficiently in the new period and left the podium to Haluk Giray to provide information about the R&D centers investments and legislation relevant to the sector.

Giray reported that Sarten Packaging Industry and Commerce Co. has become an R&D center and gave a presentation about the activities that the company has done in this regard.

R&D Engineer Sabri Süha Ekici and Active Project Management Partner İbrahim Gedikoğlu of Sarten Packaging shared the details of both theoretical and practical issues with the Assembly Members.

Customs Consultant Murat Ayhancı also gave a presentation about the import procedures with petroleum chemical products utilizing the actual value products instead of the reference prices.

In addition, imports of plastics used as food packaging raw materials were discussed. It was advised that both the Turkish Packaging Council and the sectoral associations should apply to the Ministry of Economy regarding the issue.
