Hisarcıklıoğlu requested support for EU accession from Poland

Polish Ambassador to Turkey Marcin Wilczek visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.

During the meeting which took place in the TOBB Union Center, Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed his gratification that that Poland took over EU Term Presidency on July 11, 2011. Hisarcıklıoğlu said that they looked forward to Poland’s support during the term in regards to Turkey admission as one of the countries that supports Turkey’s admission to the EU. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Ambassador Wilczek’s contributions would be well received. Hisarcıklıoğlu also emphasized the need for tangible steps towards the lifting of visas.

Polish Ambassador Marcin Wilczek stated that Poland was ready to lend its support to the development of Turkey-EU relations during its presidency.

Turkey – Poland Relations

Hisarcıklıoğlu said that they look forward to the Ambassador’s contributions to the bilateral relations between Turkey and Poland. Saying that, as two countries unaffected by the 2009 economic crisis, the trade numbers between them do not yet reflect the full potential of the relations. He emphasized the importance of the Turkey-Poland Business Council being more active.

Polish Ambassador Wilczek stated that the two countries were the second number of choice for the students participating in the Erasmus Student Exchange Program and that the people of the two countries getting to know each other better would provide substantial support to trade.
