The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the President of Mexico Felipe Calderon during the 7th World Chambers Congress in Mexico.​

The congress, hosted by the Mexico City National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO), was held in Mexico City, the capital of Mexico. Mexico President Calderon met with Hisarcıklıoğlu during the congress, who stated that closer relations must be cultivated between Turkey and Latin American countries. In commemoration of the meeting he presented President Calderon with gifts.

Mexico President Felipe Calderon also visited the TOBB booth in the Congress exhibition. He was presented Malatya apricots, nuts and nazar boncugu – evil eye ward charms -, and a pin depicting Turkish and Mexican flags together.

The President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, prior to the 7th World Chambers Congress attended the World Chambers Federation (WCF) Council meeting in Mexico City.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated in his speech that obstructions to trade must be eliminated; the Doha negotiations must reach a conclusion in 2011 and conservative policies must be opposed. Hisarcıklıoğlu said that in order to develop a sustainable green economy concrete policies must be proposed and a global cooperation and coordination must be implemented which covers all sectors. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that private sectors are the primary factor of growth for countries, state and private partnerships must be given due attention and a mechanism to enable governments and private sectors to work together must be implemented.

Hisarcıklıoğlu attended talks with ICC Secretary General Jean Guy Carrier; Iran Commerce, Industry and Mines Chamber President Mohammad Nahavandian; Slovakia Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Peter Mihok; Doha Commerce and Industry Chamber President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Al-Thani; Mexico City Chamber of Commerce President Arthuro Mendicutti Narro; Japan Commerce and Industry Chamber Toshio Nakamura and Hungary Commerce and Industry Chamber President Laszlo Parragh during the Council Meeting.

Working under the ICC and presenting the Chambers globally World Chambers Federation (WCF) brings Chambers, bureaucrats and academicians together in the Congresses that it holds every 2 years. WCF is presided by Rona Yırcalı.
