M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), shared a post on social media marking the third anniversary of the February 6 earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş.
Hisarcıklıoğlu stated: “Three years have passed since that indescribable pain. We witnessed heartbreaking images that no words can heal. I remember our citizens who lost their lives with mercy. Let us not forget the reality of earthquakes in our country! To avoid reliving the same pain, we have no choice but to build earthquake-resistant cities and safe structures.
As TOBB, we have launched the ‘Turkish Business World Housing Mobilization Campaign’ for our provinces affected by the earthquake, and our 1,000 permanent housing project is nearing completion.
The lots for 750 housing units in Malatya, Kahramanmaraş, Hatay Antakya, and İskenderun were drawn in the presence of a notary by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change’s Urban Transformation Directorate. The lots for 250 housing units in Adıyaman will be drawn soon.
