Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his statement:
“Unregulated e-imports were a serious problem that posed a risk to consumers and exposed SMEs to unfair competition.
Inspections conducted by the Ministry of Trade in October 2025 show that 81% of products entering our country through simplified customs regulations are risky.
The decision published in the Official Gazette to end this period is extremely appropriate. It is only natural that Türkiye, like the rest of the world, should start carrying out the necessary inspections at its customs.
I would like to thank our Minister of Trade, Mr. Ömer Bolat, and his team for these decisive steps that protect our consumers, domestic production, domestic e-commerce platforms, and fair competition.
Trade and cross-border e-commerce must operate according to rules.”
