Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

Hisarcıklıoğlu, emphasizing that the main owners of the Chambers and Commodity Exchanges are the Secretaries General, said, “Therefore, you have the duty to keep these places in the best condition and to protect them. We are one family as the Chamber and Commodity Exchange community in 81 provinces and 160 districts. We are the only professional organization representing companies and entrepreneurs from every sector of Türkiye.”

Stating that their strength comes from unity and tight solidarity, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Our unity, strength and effectiveness are what makes us different, that is, this community. It is the biggest feature that distinguishes us from other institutions and makes us stand out.”

Pointing out that with great power comes great responsibility, the TOBB President said, “We have to do right by this power and responsibility entrusted to us. This is our duty and responsibility, both legal and moral. As a community, we are doing great things and services. The real people behind all this are you. When you do successful work, we succeed. Thus, the power and reputation of all of us increases.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu said that for this reason, their duty is to prepare the Secretaries General in the best way and to equip them with the best information.

“Our community is the most democratic institution in Türkiye,” Hisarcıklıoğlu said, adding, “Therefore, you have an important responsibility in terms of holding elections fairly and in accordance with democratic rules. You have to act in accordance with the law, legislation and rules. Always be objective. All we want is for the elections to take place in a fair and just manner and in accordance with the rules. Only in this way can we protect the value, power and effectiveness of this community. We must all bring these institutions, in which we work, to a level in which we are proud to work, and in which we can proudly tell everyone.”

Noting that he is a part of the management of the Union of European Chambers, ICCIA and Asia-Pacific CCI, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the chamber/commodity exchange system in Türkiye has become an example and that the role of the Secretaries General is immense in this.

Stating that Chambers and Commodity Exchanges have become project factories, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “They have started to benefit from national and international grant programs increasingly. You have brought both financial resources and know-how to your cities. In the last 20 years, more than 1,900 projects have been implemented by our Chambers and Commodity Exchanges. It's always been because of you. Keep going and keep an eye on the projects.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu asked the Secretaries General to act as a bridge between the Chamber/Commodity Exchange assembly and the Administration, to be the advisors of their Presidents and Administrations and to guide them.

While doing this, the TOBB President advised them not to deviate from justice, to be on the side of the truth, and to protect the right and the law.

Emphasizing that the magic word in the TOBB and Chamber/Commodity Exchange community is “Unity”, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We; With our members, Secretaries General, employees, Presidents of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, are a big family. TOBB is always with you, at your service. You can always convey your troubles, opinions, suggestions to our Secretary General or to me. Know that, the authority entrusted to us are a means of service. Let's always work with this understanding.”
