Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

Consultation with Kayseri Chambers and Exchanges

02.06.2020 / Ankara

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with the Presidents and Council Members of the Chambers and Exchanges in Kayseri Provinces and Districts via video conference.

Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his speech here that during this difficult period due to the pandemic, the Chambers and Exchanges have a greater task and responsibility. As TOBB, M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they communicated the problems in the field as quickly as possible, acting as a bridge between the business world and the government; they continue to consult with chambers and exchanges in 81 provinces.

Stating that first, in March, when the outbreak began, a 70-point set of proposals, were presented to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “A large part of them have come to life, and more continue to be implemented. Tax and SSI payments in various sectors have been postponed. The scope of the short work allowance has been expanded, making work faster. Various loan packages for our companies have been implemented. Finally, we started the Breath Credits with Denizbank: 7.5% interest, no payments in 2020, payments starting in 2021. Then we continued to communicate our problems and proposals in consultation with you. Because it's a dynamic process, every day a new issue, a new problem arises. Therefore, we are in contact with our members without breaks and continue to note your problems and proposals. I am pleased to see that you are working with this vision and continue to serve our members. Thanks to all my presidents, they're working hard. They keep the pulse of our members, they interpret them, they prepare proposals and pass them on to us.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu warned that the rate of infection has only been reduced and that the pandemic is not over yet, “Now a new process begins, this is an intermediate period. We will learn to live with coronavirus.”
