Hisarcıklıoğlu thanked Bilgin for the atmosphere of unity and solidarity in Sivas and wished him success in his work. Stating that all of Turkey is grateful to Sivas for hosting Ataturk and his comrades-in-arms during the War of Independence, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that, “Sivas has been one of the cornerstones of our national war of independence.”

Sivas Mayor Hilmi Bilgin stated that they aspire to serve the city with the understanding of “We” not “I” and went on, “We are proud to serve this city which declared that nothing but complete independence and sovereignty is acceptable 100 years ago.”
