President Erdoğan briefed on renovated Yassıada

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Yassıada visit. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was briefed on the works in Yassıada, which was reorganized as “Island of Democracy and Freedoms.” Erdoğan said in his assessment, “The Island of Democracy and Freedoms will be opened at the end of the year. There can be no coups in this country.”
During his visit, President Erdoğan was accompanied by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Minister of Internal Affairs Süleyman Soylu, Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak, Minister of Environment and Urban Planning Murat Kurum, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Presidential Communications Directors Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Altun, Presidential Spokesman İbrahim Kalın, Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya, AK Party Deputy Chairpersons Çiğdem Karaaslan and Mahir Ünal, AK Party Deputy Chairman and Spokesman Ömer Çelik, MESA Holding Chairman Erhan Boysanoğlu, AK Party Ankara Deputy Mücahit Arslan as well as newspaper and television editors.
After receiving information by visiting the congresses and exhibition grounds in Yassıada, where the Prime Minister Adnan Menderes and his colleagues were executed, he gave an interview to journalists.
The reorganized island has an area of 103,750 square meters. 60% of the island is reserved for landscaping, while the natural attribute of 20% will be preserved.
