The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President and TOBB Economics and Technology University (TOBB ETU) Board of Trustees President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with graduate students at the iftar dinner organized for the 8th time this year by the TOBB Economy and Society University of Technology Alumni (TOBB ETU MED).

In his speech at the dinner, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the iftar dinner organized by TOBB ETÜ MED has become a tradition and emphasized that institutions stand on their traditions.

“Youth is the future,” said Hisarcıklıoğlu and reported that students of TOBB ETU train with the first and only model of education among 217 universities in Turkey.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they have three main objectives in establishing TOBB ETÜ: “To train entrepreneurs. To train private sector friendly bureaucrats. To train qualified employees sought out by the market. Praise Allah, we did all these. Look, at this time, we have graduated 6,000 students including master’s and doctorate degrees. Our graduates have already established more than 400 companies or started to take part in the management of existing companies. This is the most concrete evidence that we are an entrepreneurial university.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out the importance of honesty and said that it is necessary to be honest to win.

Hisarcıklıoğlu also shared advice with the students, “Do not be afraid to take the initiative. Imagine, set goals. Work towards your goals. Don't be afraid to lose. We learn to win by losing.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu, who asked the graduates to keep abreast of changes, advised them to not lose their entrepreneurial spirit and encouraged them to innovate.

Hisarcıklıoğlu advised that they not alienate anyone for their religious, sectarian, ethnic background and political views but to embrace and love everyone.
