Receiving the Turkish business delegation headed by the Union Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s Vice President for Economic Affairs Mohammad Nahavandian gave his assessment regarding the economic relations between the two countries.

Stating that the Islamic world would become stronger as a result of relations between Turkey and Iran growing closer, Nahavandian said that if Ankara and Tehran move in unison, “No economic sanctions by any country could succeed.” Nahavandian said, “Boosting relations with Turkey’s government and people is one of the priorities of Iran's foreign policy. Pressure from US sanctions will end soon; friends become apparent in difficult times.”

Touching on US embargoes against Iran, Nahavandian said, “The threats of US are very loud but fail to reach their goals.

The Trump administration faces many problems domestically and will never be able to put its goals beyond the oceans into practice.”
