Speaking at the opening, Minister Ruhsar Pekcan stated that the world economy is going through a period where there are threats such as trade wars. In such times, economic and commercial cooperation between Europe's fastest with growing and most dynamic economy, Turkey and the ancestral homeland of Turkmenistan is of critical importance.

Stating that Turkmenistan, in terms of economics and commerce, is an important partner in the Central Asian region which they regard as the gateway to Central Asia, Pekcan said, “There are no obstacles between the hearts and minds of the two sister nations; there is no distance.”

Following the speeches, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan and Turkmenistan Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Minister Amandurdu İşanov visited the booths in the fairgrounds and received information about the exhibited products and services.
