14.09.2018 / Berlin / Germany

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the 13th Ordinary General Meeting of the Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TATSO) held in Berlin.

In his speech at the General Assembly, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the Turkish-German Trade and Industry Chamber acts as a bridge between Turkey and Germany, to facilitate integration, encourage entrepreneurship and aims to provide services to their members operating in Germany.

Explaining they also aim to help entrepreneurs in Turkey wishing to do business in Germany, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “To meet these expectations, 141 of our chambers/exchanges from TOBB and Turkey registered as members of the Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce. This is very important for the Turkish business community and the chamber/exchange community. For this reason, we are attending TATSO General Assembly with a high level delegation from Turkey. On this occasion, I would like to thank the German Chambers of Industry and Commerce with whom we have been working together since the establishment of the chamber.”

Stating that TATSO is a model project for TOBB’s international structuring endeavors, the TOBB President said, “With the experience we have gained here, our structuring endeavors abroad have continued and grown. We have established sister chambers with Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Serbia, TRNC, Kyrgyzstan. In addition, we established the Turkish-Arab Chamber and the Turkish-African Chamber. All this strengthened the international network of our chamber-exchange system.”

Pointing out that the economic relations with Germany is a top priority, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Germany is the world's fourth and Europe's largest economy. Germany's success in integration and vocational training is one of Germany's global success stories, as in many other areas. In this success, the German Union of Chambers of Industry and Commerce has made great contributions.”

TATSO President Rolf Konigs expressed his gratitude for the support of TOBB and the Chambers and Commodity Exchanges for TATSO.
