“Entrepreneurs should be the apple in Turkey’s eye”

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the opening of the Aksaray Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s new service building. Hisarcıklıoğlu also signed the protocol for the building of the TOBB Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Aksaray. The TOBB President stated in his speech that entreprneeurs should be the apple in Turkey’s eye.​

Stating that entrepreneurs are the producers and movers of this country, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Joy to those who can provide jobs and food to people. What could be better?”

 

Attending the opening of the Aksaray Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s new service building in addition to TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu were Aksaray Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Ahmet Koçaş, Aksaray Parliamentary Representatives Ali Rıza Alaboyun and İlknur İnceöz, Municipality Director Haluk Şahin Yazgı and Aksaray University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Acar as well as many chamber/exchange presidents and businessmen.

 

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized the importance of common sense, pointing out the importance of unity and solidarity in attaining success and becoming brand city, “We will all think differently. We will discuss issues and meet at common ground. Afterwards, we will support the decision and work together for our city.”

 

Providing information regarding Aksaray’s economy, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu, having met with the presidents of the women and young entrepreneurs councils, urged all fathers to raise their daughters with an entrepreneurial spirit.

 

- Cities competing

 

Stating that cities, not countries, are the main competitors in the global economy, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that 60% of the world’s economy is conducted in cities and said, “Our goal is 2023. We want to raise the personal income to 25,000 USD. This can only be achieved with your efforts.”

 

Stating that reforms slow down during election periods, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “In about 6 months all political parties will come knocking to your door. What we must ask for are reforms to liberate the private sector. If we maintain our momentum, we can do it.”

 

- “Hopeful for the future”

 

“Today, one of every three home appliances sold in Europe is a Turkish brand. One of every four TVs are Turkish products. The country which produces the most foreign cars after the USA is Turkey.

 

Our goal now is 2023. We want to raise the personal income to 2.5 times its present amount of 10,000 USD to 25,000 USD. This can only be achieved with your efforts.”

 

- Signatures given for the Vocational High School

 

After the speeches, the protocol for the TOBB Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Aksaray was signed by Hisarcıklıoğlu and Aksaray Governor Şeref Ataklı.
