“We have learned to our great sorrow the passing of Mr. Süleyman Seba who left his mark in our sports history through his great successes and gentlemanly manner. Seba served Turkish football greatly as the President of Beşiktaş – which he used to play for in his youth. He took office in 1984 and served for 16 years and achieved much for Beşiktaş with limited resources. Apart from championships and cups, also worth praise are the facilities made for the club. Seba’s stance and sportsmanship won the respect and love of all sports lovers, not just that of Beşiktaş fans.

On behalf of the Turkish business world, I pray for the grace of Allah upon Süleyman Seba and present my condolences to his family, the Beşiktaş community and all sports lovers. May heaven be his abode.”
