08.06.2014 / Ankara

In his statement tin regards to the Energy Security themed World Accreditation Day, the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Turkey must grasp the meaning, importance and necessity of accreditation in international trade if it is to achieve its 2023 goals.

The TOBB President said, “Whoever can achieve the standard required by their customers will sell their goods; if we can’t do it, our competitors will. Chamber and Exchange administrators must be better acquainted with the Turkish Accreditation Institution and its activities and promote it to their members.”

Stating that the selection energy security as theme was very appropriate, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “There is no sector unaffected by energy. Economic growth also means greater need for energy. Security should be our first priority in investments for energy.

The way to ensure security is through accreditation.”

- TOBB Chamber/Exchange Accreditation System

Speaking about the TOBB Chamber/Exchange Accreditation System, the TOBB President said, “We ensure the standards of service in our community with the Chamber/Exchange Accreditation System.

Accredited Chamber/Exchange means service on par with EU standards; it denotes a Chamber/Exchange which listens to and satisfies its customers. We started on this path in 2002 and have reached 152 accredited Chambers/Exchanges but we have a long way to go yet. That is because 5-star service is the right of all our members.”
