Innovation center will turn the Black Sea Region's wits into profit

Speaking at the protocol signing ceremony of the Trabzon Innovation and Biotechnology Center, TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, "The Innovation Center will be the facility which transforms the extraordinary intellect of the residents of the Black Sea Region into profit. Where wit is turned into profit. Trabzon has the wits for it. This will now be turned into investments."​

The protocol for the Trabzon Innovation and Biotechnology Center which will be built in Trabzon by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has been signed with the attendances of TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and Trabzon Governor Abdil Celil Öz.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu announced that TOBB would be building an innovation and biotechnology center in Trabzon with the cooperation of the Black Sea Technical University (KTÜ) and DOKA as per the request of the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Trabzon Commodity Exchange and the Of Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

 

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, "The Innovation Center will be the facility which transforms the extraordinary intellect of the residents of the Black Sea Region into profit. Where wit is turned into profit. Trabzon has the wits for it. This will now be turned into investments. If someone has an idea this will be supported in all ways. They will have founded their own company in 6 months. This center will be an incubator for ideas."

 

Stating that turkey needs to present new and technological products with high added value to the world, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, "One of the most important places for this will be the innovation center. It is imperative t hat the innovation center is with the university for this. We are excited to provide Trabzon with this work. May it bring fortune."

 

Governor Öz also spoke in regards to the merits of building the center in Trabzon, stating that the technocity, central laboratories as well as the innovation and biotechnology center will make Trabzon a hub for R&D and innovative investments, thanking the contributors.

 

After the speeches, Hisarcıklıoğlu, Öz, Kaldırım, Hacısalihoğlu and other dignitaries signed the Trabzon Innovation and Biotechnology Center protocol.

 

Attending the ceremony held at the Trabzon Governor's Office were TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Trabzon Governor Abdil Celil Öz, TOBB Board Vice President Halim Mete, TOBB Board Member Salih Zeki Murzioğlu, Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Hacısalihoğlu, Trabzon Commodity Exchange President Şükrü Güngör Köleoğlu, Of Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Erdal Saral and East Black Sea Development Agency Secretary General Çetin Oktay Kaldırım.
