The Republic is our most sacred inheritance from our ancestors

28.10.2013 / Ankara

Publishing a message in regards to the 90th anniversary October 29th Republic Day, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that our people look to the future with hope thanks to the values of the Republic, democracy, unity and solidarity.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the Republic, won through much conflict, is the most sacred inheritance left to us by our ancestors, and that, the value of it is better understood each day.

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:

“The declaration of the foundation of our Republic, October 29th, is a special and proud day for all of us. All that we’ve gained through so much hardship can only be preserved with the same level of determination. This duty is our inheritance and will be so for the generations which follow us.

The founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, aiming to reach the level of modern civilization,  planned for us to achieve a revolution in all institutions and rules as well as modernity.

He, through the path he drew for us, taught us to serve the homeland and nation as individuals with all that they have to give and the conviction to achieve prosperity and happiness without sacrificing human values and honor.

Republic is the freedom of thought; it is unity and solidarity; it is the rule of the people’s will. It is the most morden mode of government on the earth wherein everyone is a first class citizen and where human rights and freedoms and beliefs are guarded.

We remember with great respect and gratitude those who gave us the opportunity live in these conditions in these lands, starting with Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his brothers in arms. May Allah rest their souls.

It is with these thoughts and feelings that I, on behalf of the business community, celebrate the Republic Day of our nation from the bottom of my heart.”
