“We long for the great Atatürk, who the whole world admired”

09.11.2013 / Ankara

Publishing a message in regards to 75th anniversary of the passing of the Great Leader Veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Atatürk was an exemplary commander and statesmen who greatly influenced his day.

Atatürk, who is deeply longed for, is admired throughout the world, said Hisarcıklıoğlu and went on, “The Turkish Republic, founded through great hardships, takes the path he has shown, the target he has set as its own; that of the summit of modern civilization. It is the growth of our economy. The Great Atatürk said, ‘We need but one thing, to work hard. Wealth and happiness are only the right of the hard working people’ and, in essence, showed us the way to succeed.

We will be worthy of our past through hard work in guarding his legacy. This is our life debt to all the martyrs who sacrificed their own lives in order to protect our homeland. We have the strength and the presence of mind to succeed in this. All that we need to do is maintain our unity and solidarity.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:

“We commemorate another 10th of November, with gratefulness for the person who began and lead our fight for freedom, the founder of the modern Republic of Turkey, the Great Leader Atatürk.

As the Turkish business community, an important duty falls to us: to produce more, to provide more employment and make our economy into one of the largest in the world. With this in mind, let nobody doubt that we work at anything but our fullest capacity and that we will continue to do so. This is our oath before history as the Turkish business community.

It is with these thoughts and sentiments that we emphasize our conviction in the bright and glorious future of Turkey once again and bow before the memory of the Great Atatürk with great respect.”
