President of the Republic Gül received the President of the Assembly of French Chambers of Commerce and Industry, André Marcon, visiting Turkey on the invitation of TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.​

 

Receiving the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie France (CCI France) President André Marcon and his delegation, President of the Republic of Turkey, Abdullah Gül stated that the friendship and alliance relations between Turkey and France which go back a long time in history have a multidimensional depth to them.

Stating that one of the most important foundations of bilateral affairs is economic cooperation and key for political relations, President Gül said that in his meeting with the French President Hollande during the NATO Chicago Summit they had emphasized the strong character of the relationship between the two countries and that they are in agreement in regards to furthering cooperation with each other.

- “French companies have become a part of Turkey”

Gül stated the importance he puts on France, one of the most prominent countries for business in Europe, and that they are following the works of French companies in Turkey very closely. Gül stated that, “The French companies which have been operating in Turkey for many years have become parts of Turkey.”

President Gül also expressed admiration for the close cooperation of CCI France and its Turkish counterpart, TOBB, and that this will contribute greatly to the affairs between the two countries.

- Trade partnership between Turkey and France

CCI France President André Marcon also expressed his pleasure for being in Turkey and thanked President Gül after his reception.

Stating that he is confident his visit will positively impact the economic relations between Turkey and France, Marcon also stated that CCI France is putting forth effort to increase the bilateral economic and trade relations and that in this regard they have established a fruitful partnership with TOBB.

- “We are greatly interested in Turkey”

Stating that, as the President of CCI France, he is the spokesman for chambers of commerce and industry on a regional and local scale and that in this regard French companies are supporting the membership process of Turkey to the European Union, Marcon said that at the base of the great interest French companies have for Turkey lies Turkey’s political stability, young population and that it is a significant market.
