GS1 Turkey made a presentation about healthcare and datamatrix on a webinar which had over 30 participants from different countries. Attendants of the webinar were, the members of international GS1 organization which determines the various e-commerce standards; such as barcode, datamatrix, RFID and traceability.​

​Under the structure of TOBB, GS1 Turkey experts made a presentation about healthcare traceability in Turkey and datamatrix applications. They staded  that in additon to the benefits of barcodes, which are stil widely used, datamatrix can contain more than one variable which makes it very useful in traceability operations. Therefore, the importance of the datamatrix is rising everyday in sectors where traceability is crucial. Since datamatrix contains product information as well as information about product price, expiry date, batch number, lot number etc., consumers, sellers, producers and public authorities can reach the data swiftly and reliably.   Some of the procedures facilitated through the use of barcode application include traceability of the product in the supply chain and recalling if necessary, the place of the manufacturing, and determination of specifications of the products. Turkey continues to make improvements in projects which aim to enable traceability and have datamatrix at its core.   Under the administiration of TOBB with 20.000 active members, GS1 Turkey, plays an active role in healthcare projects and promotes these efficiently to the world.
