Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, as part of his visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), visited the 15,000-metric-ton capacity Güzelyurt Cold Storage Integrated Facilities, a project implemented under the coordination of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), and conducted an inspection.

The visit, which included TOBB Board Member M. Cihat Lokmanoğlu, was also attended by Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, Speaker of the TRNC Assembly Ziya Öztürkler, TRNC Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, TRNC Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş, and TRNC Minister of Finance Özdemir Berova.

The delegation received information from officials of our Union and Cypfruvex regarding the facility’s technical infrastructure and the work being carried out.

The 15,000-metric-ton facility, built to reduce product losses in the citrus sector, boost exports, and provide producers with modern storage capabilities, is expected to make a significant contribution to the sector’s marketing and export processes.

In a statement following the visit, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said, “We inspected the Integrated Cold Storage Facilities, whose construction has been completed in the citrus capital. This strategic investment, which will protect production and increase exports, will serve as a symbol of integrated development in agriculture between Türkiye and the TRNC.”
