The COP31 Private Sector Envoy, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB), participated in high-level meetings and events held in London as part of London Climate Action Week (LCAW) 2026, conducting a series of meetings with representatives of international organizations and the business community.

On the first day of the engagements held as part of LCAW, a meeting was held with Ricardo Mussa, President of the Sustainable Business COP (SB COP). The discussion focused on increasing the private sector’s active participation in the COP31 preparation process, opportunities for collaboration between the COP31 Business Forum and the SB COP, and preparations for the COP31 Business and Investment Summit to be held in Antalya.

On the second day of the program, TOBB Deputy Secretary-General Sarp Kalkan and Ahmet Saygın Baban, Head of the Sectors and Entrepreneurship Department, attended a high-level meeting organized by the International Energy Agency (IEA). At the meeting, priority topics were discussed, including the energy transition agenda for COP31, electrification, clean energy investments, and the financing of the energy transition.

Following the IEA meeting, the TOBB delegation met with representatives of the Just Climate initiative, founded by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore.

As part of these bilateral meetings, the delegation also met with Laura Hickey, Senior International Strategy Advisor at Bloomberg International and a former British diplomat.

The discussions covered preparations for COP31, the private sector’s contribution to climate action, and potential areas of cooperation within the framework of the COP31 Business Forum.

The TOBB delegation also held bilateral meetings with representatives of the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). During the meetings with Jamie Fergusson, Director of Climate at the World Bank Group, and Veronica Nyhan Jones, Head of the Global Climate Capacity and Inclusion Accelerator at the IFC, potential joint initiatives with international organizations during the COP31 process were discussed. Consultations were held on climate finance, one of the key topics in the COP processes.

As part of the LCAW program, TOBB Deputy Secretary General Sarp Kalkan attended a reception organized by Sustainable Business COP (SB COP). In his opening remarks, he emphasized that inter-institutional coordination and joint initiatives would play a decisive role in ensuring the active participation of the global business community in the COP31 process.

The TOBB delegation also held a meeting with Rob Johan Adriaan van Riet, Senior Advisor at the World Economic Forum’s Center for Climate and Nature.

As part of its efforts as the COP31 Business Ambassador, TOBB will continue to maintain contact with international stakeholders in the coming period to support the active participation of the global business community in the COP31 process and to strengthen preparations for the COP31 Business Forum to be held in Antalya through international collaborations.
