Sustainability Summit held in cooperation with TOBB

The Sustainability Summit, organized in cooperation with TOBB, Meta and Habitat Association within the scope of the Environment Week, was held on June 10, 2022 at Facebook Station, of which TOBB is also a partner. Representatives of public institutions, academics, representatives of the business world, SMEs and NGOs took part in the event where panels titled “Turkey's Sustainability Vision”, “Sustainability Trends and Methods in the World of Academia and Civil Society”, “How Do Sector Leaders Contribute to Transformation?” and “Transformation Journey for SMEs – Success Stories” were held.
Speaking at the panel on “Turkey's Sustainability Vision” attended by representatives of the Climate Change Presidency, Strategy and Budget Directorate and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), TOBB Sectors and Entrepreneurship Department Head A. Saygın Baban stated that green transformation is inevitable and that the industry's perspective is now beyond talking, having moved on to taking action, and said: “There are sectors in Turkey's green transformation adventure that cannot reduce their emissions due to their nature. We should plan together the applications that will pave the way for these sectors and guide the sectors. As TOBB, all our work is planned to guide the sectors.”
In the panels that lasted throughout the day within the scope of the summit, an academic perspective was provided to the green transformation and the views of NGOs were conveyed. What studies were carried out on green transformation and sustainability, and how awareness was raised were explained by the sector representatives.
In the last session, start-ups were featured and Captonomy, Neolocal, Ecording Drone and Kasım Bey Olive and Olive Oils told their success stories.
