Faik Yavuz attended the International Education Forum

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Board of Directors Treasurer Faik Yavuz evaluated the concept of Digital Obesity by attending the 5th International Education Forum organized by TEDMEM, the think tank of the Turkish Education Association (TED).​

In the forum, digitalization in education, childhood and parenting in the digital age, politics and digitalization, and digitalization in business were evaluated.

In the Business World and Digitalization session moderated by Deniz Bank CEO Hakan Ateş, TOBB Board of Directors Treasurer Faik Yavuz, MÜSİAD Planning, Education and Culture Commission Chairman Dr. Savaş Yılmaz and TÜSİAD Ankara Representative Barış Urhan evaluated digital obesity in terms of the business world.

In the forum where the opportunities and threats of the digital world and the effects of digitalization on professional transformation and working life were discussed, Faik Yavuz said, “The transfer of education to the digital environment during the Covid-19 process and the adoption of flexible working models in working life have brought ease and difficulties with it. There is a generation that thinks that everything can be done through digital tools and thinks that only digital skills will be enough. Of course, these young people want to work more flexibly instead of taking advantage of employment opportunities in traditional sectors. This is where it becomes important to carry out change processes in a balanced manner and to manage them carefully.”

Yavuz stated that TOBB, the umbrella organization of the business world, has renewed its technological infrastructure by keeping pace with the digital transformation with the pandemic, and that TOBB is celebrating its 78th anniversary. He informed that the General Assembly was held on 13 May 2022 on online.

Yavuz, who mentioned that the current era is the era of digitalization, stated that it is necessary to adapt to the technological transformation without missing the change, but the process should be carried out without losing human relations.
