At the meeting held with the participation of senior representatives of private sector and non-governmental organizations, Sanko Holding (Sanko Textile Enterprises LLC) Board Chairman Council President Adil Sani KonukoÄŸlu was unanimously elected Council President while Zorlu Holding (Korteks Mensucat San. Tic. Inc.) Zeki Zorlu was unanimously elected as Vice President.

TOBB Board Member Zeki Kıvanç said in his opening remarks that Abdulkadir Konukoğlu, who has been chairing the Council since its founding, had the largest share in qualifying as the most organized working sector in the textile sector, and that they owed them gratitude as the textile sector and needed their knowledge and experience there.

TOBB Board Member S.Selim Kandemir expressed his honor to have worked with Abdulkadir KonukoÄŸlu, a veteran of the textile sector, and expressed his thanks for his work for the textile sector and the sector council.

TOBB Board Members Zeki Kıvanç and S. Selim Kandemir congratulated Council President Adil Sani Konukoğlu and Council Vice President Zeki Zorlu and wished the council success in the new term.

Abdulkadir KonukoÄŸlu stated that he has been in the textile sector for 52 years and the TOBB community for 30 years, and stated that they have accomplished very important works on behalf of the sector as the Textile Industry Council, and expressed his thanks to the council members who worked together in unity and solidarity. Abdulkadir KonukoÄŸlu pointed out the importance of the TOBB community and underlined that there are no obstacles that the sector cannot overcome under the roof of TOBB by working in unity and solidarity under the presidency of Adil Sani KonukoÄŸlu. With his experience, he promised to continue to support the industry.

Adil Sani KonukoÄŸlu, who was elected Council President, thanked all council members and said that they will continue to contribute to the work of the sector as a sector council. Adil Sani KonukoÄŸlu stated that they will follow up on the problems of the sector one-to-one with TOBB management and stated that they are aiming to take the sector further.

Zeki Zorlu, who was elected as Council Vice President, offered his thanks to the members of the sector council and said they were always on the side of the sector.

TOBB Board Members Zeki Kıvanç and Suat Selim Kandemir informed the council members about the work carried out on behalf of the sector and the economic measures taken as TOBB during the pandemic.

At the meeting, council members discussed the impact of the pandemic on the sector and the state of the sector.
